Back to CAS - with PJ

Hello my dear friends ! Its PJ again

I am super excited to share my card with you today !

Its been a while that i went CAS and as you all may know its not a style that comes naturally to me . 

But that doesnt stop our beloved DT Jovi to challenge us to do what we are not very confortable doing ! 

He he :) 

Just remember we are looking for clean and simple cards with black and gold 

which is the trend of the season ! 

I totally love the combination . 

You may use very little of any other color,as long as it doesnt take the focus away from the Black and gold. 

So here is my CAS card (well almost CAS)

 My card is more of a Clean and layered style. Even though it has 2 layers its still got open and empty spaces with crisp lines. Thats what you can go for too. CAS can mean diffrent things to diffrenet people.
All it needs to be is as CLEAN as possible and to the point.

 I went for the chalboard effect ! Love working with this style its fantastic !
All i did was did some stamping with white pigment ink. Worked well.

I have used one of My minds eye stamp set  to do the border. 

The cycle is stamped with a Inkadinkado mini stamp set.

And the sentiment is done with Pink paislee stamp set. 

 

The gold element i added was Glitter ! I always love to dive into my Pie lane stash for those ! 

Love the pixie dust !

BGC#40 - Silver Wonders !

Hello guys ! 

welcome back to another fabulous fortnightly challenge at BGC !

We thankyou all for playing with us in huge numbers for the fall color challenge. 

We can tell that u are enjoying this :) 

So here is another challenge to tickle your imagination 

This time our very own DT - Shafaq challenged us to do some

 Silver Wonders !

Here is what you have to do. 

1. Make ANY paper crafted project  (Cards, LO, 3-d Boxes, fancy folds, albums etc.) with silver as a dominating color.

2. Your project must have the word "Congratulations" or "congrats" on it. 

3. Examples to show case silver in your projects would be - Prominent silver heat embossing , Using silver card stock,silver glitter , use of silver paint  or a lot of silver charms ! 

4. Please note that a single silver butterfly or only one silver charm will not qualify. 

5. Make sure you link the blog post to the linky not your whole blog. 

6. Deadline of the challenge - 15th Oct 2013 , 11:55 PM IST.

I was shocked to see the 2 large birds they are so silver and so beautiful !

With the silver so prominent , i so want to have this card !

Here comes Karen with an amazing frame ! I love that she used so much silver for the BG and the sentiment.

The clip holds a tiny congrats card in the center and we can add a picture to it later :) 

I really love the color scheme she used . 

The black really brings out the silver and the blooms are absolutely gorgeous !

Jovi's sweet and simple Star card is making my eyes shine ! 

Love the layering and the sweet bow . I couldnt have imagined purple goes so well with silver ... 

The card is made for a baby's arrival to new parents :)

Nikita made this beautiful and subtle card with some silver embossing !

It blows my mind how the simple but beautiful card is showcasing silver as well as colors .

She has used watercolor pencils to color between the embossed chevrons. 

The vellum and embossed sentiment with the butterfly is just amazing !!

Here comes my inspiration ! I made a shaker card with a sweet Tilda inside.For the confetti i just added some pieces that are leftovers from the die cut i did sometime ago.

I just went ahead and added some kitchen foil to my background ! Silver is not really my color and i don't have anything silver except glitter , which i just didn't want to use. 

so i just embossed my kitchen foil :) and used it instead. 

Hope this inspired you to go out of the box with your creations 

and we hope you all will join us with lot more invovative ideas than this !

BGC#34 - Photo Inspiration + Anything goes

Hi Bloggers!!  Happy Monday to you! I hope your weekend was great

Back again we are with a brand new team on board !

I know you all are totally eager to know what our new designers have to offer 

and what the new challenge is all about. 

Well this time we wanted to let your creativity take a spin !

So we have decided to do a 

ANYTHING GOES challenge !!! 

Yes it can be any thing under the sun  , Well anything crafty ! 

BUT 

we have a photo inspiration for you 

Isnt that lovely ?? Well u are free to draw inspiration from any element of the picture or the colors .

Jovi created a cash envelope for gifting ! She picked up the floral elements from the picture and the colors . I think her quilling is spectacular ! What a good way to start a challenge !
 

Kalindi

Kalindi gives us another super cute creation ! She recreated the colors from the flowers . I also think that she has shown the romance of the picture altogether ! And psst...... The image is hand drawn ..... SIGH !! I can never do something like that ! Shouldn't she be a stamp designer ???

Jen 

Well Coming to our first new designer of the season ! Jen has created this magnificent card with so many layers and she captured the essence of the flowers in her creation ! Such gorgeous embossing and ribbon work , Well done Jen !

Here is Bipasha's work !
 I am assuming she has hand written that stunning sentiment ! 
Well Kudos to that and im droooling at it coz my handwriting sucks !
I really love how she has picked up the colors and the use of fabric on the dress form is also really beautiful !

Nikita 

Here is what Nikita came up with ! 
The softness of the quilling is lovely . Dont u just adore the pleated ribbons and the wooden butterfly? The pearls do add a nice touch to the tag. She took inspiration from the colors and its quite visible in the tag. 

Karen 

Here comes a stunning LO from Karen. 
She was inspired by the colors and the look the flowers gave. 
I really love how the flowers dominate the LO and the beautiful picture there is surly the best part of it all !
Just amazing !

And finally here is my layered tag .
I took inspiration from the flowers and the colors . I made the large flower with crepe paper and all the rose buds are handmade. I also incorporated the checks on the ribbon of the photo inspiration , that kinda caught my eye :)
So u see , there are tons of ways to take inspiration from the photo
Just go for it !

BGC#31 - Oh So Knotty !

Hi everyone !

welcome back to our newest challenge :) 

First of all i would like to thank all of u who participated in the summery fresh birthday challenge. 

We really enjoyed your creations :) 

Now I am back with another challenging task for you. 

The current challenge is 

Oh So Knotty ! 

This challenge has 2 parts to it.  (Please read carefully to avoid confusion)

 You are free to make any paper crafted project , card or layout as long as

1. Your project has a KNOT  (or many knots) of some kind on it .
It can be ribbons, twins, fabric, jute or anything that can be knotted . 

2. Your project needs to be a complete black project with only Maroon or shades of maroon color on it, that means Maroon should stand out on black.
Neutrals like white, Kraft and beige are allowed but in limited amount. 

 Now that is sorted ,

 I simply love the interpretation of knotting that ebba has chosen to do ! Its really beautiful !
The image is also so well colored as usual ! I love the tiny tinge of maroon peaking from beneath the black card stock and the flowers are lovely! way to go ebba !

I embossed my card and then went for the chalkboard look.
I also love the look this spellbinders die (oval) creates when its layered.
The flower is handmade . (Sorry bout the color, the flower somehow looks a red when i click its pic.. its a lighter and brighter shade of maroon.)

BGC#24- Shabby Chic Love

Hi everyone . 

Welcome back to another great year full of card challenges !

I know you were waiting for us to start on our new challenges

So without further ado lets kick start the 1st challenge of 2013

which is 

"Shabby Chic Love " 

So since valentines day is round the corner we dare you to make a 

"Shabby chic" Love - card / layout or a paper craft project . 

 So what is shabby chic ? 

Shabby Chic is a style and it reflects a timeless and vintage quality that draws on so many sources and inspirations that combine the new with the old .

The style originates from England, combining the flower prints of Victorians, polka dot spotty tea sets and Bakelite objects from the 1950s. But it also is influenced by French country style.

Colors are always pastel shades (Pinks and blues used more often) sometimes with bright and bold reds, often set on a white, cream or calico background, in stripes, patterns and dots or simply floral patterns

So thats what its all about :) Hope the description will guide you better.

 Its time for welcoming Brenda ! Now that's a pretty card ! Don't u just love how the flowers and the delicate meshed heart die with the lovely label just coordinate with each other ? The whole scene here is beautiful.
 

 Ebba

 Now comes in Ebba with an absolutely bang on card for the theme. I heart the sentiment on a ticket , the lace and the charm with the bow. The coloring is flawless (looks like we have a coloring star here!) Look at the flowers and the heart. So thoughtfully done ! :)

Now please put your hands together for Lucille ! The card she has presented is again wonderfully set with our theme this week. I love the bow and the papers used here. The butterfly sure gives it a edge it needs.

I made a gift box with a card this time. I tried to make the box look like a shabby chic mail box. The picture shows the front and the back of the box.
