Whats up crafty - A laced window card !

Hello bloggers !
Welcome back to the BGC blog.
Today I have tutorial on making a window card with sizzix Thinlits dies.
I have been meaning to use the lattice die from the 659069 sizzix-thinlits-die-set-6pk-butterfly-flowers-lattice set for a while and i figured it would look really great this way :)
So i went ahead with it :)

The pink flower is handmade! I used some lovely hobbycraft crepe paper to make it .
Its totally hand cut and assembled . I used the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 8PK - Circles #2
to make the rolled roses .
Now coming to the tutorial on how i made this window.

First cut a window on the folded card base with one of the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 5PK - Frames, Decorative #2 die. You may use any other die u like too.
Then pick a design paper and cut another window keeping in mind the size of the card base.
Before cutting just make sure u place the DP under the previously cut card base and make a light trace of the already cut window, this will guide you where to place your die on the DP.

Alternatively you may also keep the DP and your card stock together when u first cut it. But i get a bit paranoid of the paper moving and me cutting it the wrong way so i do the cuts separately.
Now place your lattice on the card front in a way that it covers the window u make earlier .
And glue it . The reason i placed the lattice a bit up and down was to align the design pattern.

Now just glue the DP that we cut previously sandwiching the lattice. And its as easy as that !
Your laced window is done ! :)

This is how clean it looks from the inside. Cool right ?
So i made this into a birthday card.
The rose buds are handmade :) Used some white and yellow this time .
Hope u all liked my work :)
Waiting to hear your thoughts ! :)
Hugs !

BGC#35 - The Sky is the Limit!

Hello and welcome to a new fortnight at BGC!
With the new team on board we are all stepping up one notch, so get ready for a roller coaster ride of challenges coming up the next six months.

Beyond Grey Challenges have always been about having fun. So today we have here for you one more fun challenge which has a lot of scope to get you up and creative.

The theme is

"The Sky is the Limit"
Use at least one element in your card seen in the sky (So you can use the sky background, clouds, an airplane, a rocket,etc... actually the sky is the limit)

Please note that using a single butterfly or insect is not what we have in mind.

Our generous sponsor for this challenge

The winner of this challenge will receive a Rs 500 voucher from Crafters Corner

Our Design Team has come up with some really interesting projects so have a look and join in.

POOJA

I always find Pooja's cards very charming with her pastel elegance. She just does it so well. Her inspiration does give the exact soothing feeling when you look up at the sky..and the bird is super cute.

KAREN
The Hot Air balloon is just the perfect way to say fly away and follow your dreams. The colour selection, buttons and bow just add so much to the vintage feel of this card.

BIPASHA
When I think of Bipasha, I always know she will come up with something different. She has created a recycled cottage from a Dominos cupcake box with a photo reel in it and hand drawn images ! Absolutely adorable drawing there girl!!! I just love that sun.....

NIKITA
Over to Nikita with a CAS card. She does an absolute smashing job with the theme, perfect with kites, clouds, birds and the sun... She has it all. Love the crisp feeling of this card!

JENNIFER
Such an adorable creation from Jen here! Lovely colouring and perfect bows add to the beauty of this card!

JOVITA
A simple card here using a lot of my new supplies.... The sentiment is the best part I think. Also love the dimension the Stickles Stardust adds to the clouds... But what more can I say???
So you tell me what you think....

So there you are all inspired I am sure . Get your supplies together and give us your best. Once again please note only that only one fluttering butterfly will NOT mean the sky....

Have a great day!
Hugs

BGC#34 - Photo Inspiration + Anything goes

Hi Bloggers!!  Happy Monday to you! I hope your weekend was great
Back again we are with a brand new team on board !
I know you all are totally eager to know what our new designers have to offer
and what the new challenge is all about.

Well this time we wanted to let your creativity take a spin !
So we have decided to do a
ANYTHING GOES challenge !!!
Yes it can be any thing under the sun  , Well anything crafty !
BUT
we have a photo inspiration for you
Isnt that lovely ?? Well u are free to draw inspiration from any element of the picture or the colors .
Just mention what inspired you.

A big and warm welcome to our sponsor for this challenge
Crafters Corner is generously donating RS 500 /- GV to the winner of this challenge !

With that said and done !
Here is fresh from the crafting tables of our design team members !

Jovi created a cash envelope for gifting ! She picked up the floral elements from the picture and the colors . I think her quilling is spectacular ! What a good way to start a challenge !

Kalindi gives us another super cute creation ! She recreated the colors from the flowers . I also think that she has shown the romance of the picture altogether ! And psst...... The image is hand drawn ..... SIGH !! I can never do something like that ! Shouldn't she be a stamp designer ???
Well Coming to our first new designer of the season ! Jen has created this magnificent card with so many layers and she captured the essence of the flowers in her creation ! Such gorgeous embossing and ribbon work , Well done Jen !
Here is Bipasha's work !
I am assuming she has hand written that stunning sentiment !
Well Kudos to that and im droooling at it coz my handwriting sucks !
I really love how she has picked up the colors and the use of fabric on the dress form is also really beautiful !

Here is what Nikita came up with !
The softness of the quilling is lovely . Dont u just adore the pleated ribbons and the wooden butterfly? The pearls do add a nice touch to the tag. She took inspiration from the colors and its quite visible in the tag.

Here comes a stunning LO from Karen.
She was inspired by the colors and the look the flowers gave.
I really love how the flowers dominate the LO and the beautiful picture there is surly the best part of it all !
Just amazing !

And finally here is my layered tag .
I took inspiration from the flowers and the colors . I made the large flower with crepe paper and all the rose buds are handmade. I also incorporated the checks on the ribbon of the photo inspiration , that kinda caught my eye :)
So u see , there are tons of ways to take inspiration from the photo
Just go for it !
Cant wait to see what u all create ! :)

Hugs
PJ
