BGC#50: Back to CAS + Colour Challenge

Hello and welcome to another challenge here at Beyond Grey Challenges.

The new year for us has brought in many new changes here. Lots of fun and activities for all of you. Do join in our giveaway here.. There is a lovely Die set from die- namites waiting to be yours!!!

And now moving on to the challenge... We realised that we have all been doing very heavy duty projects and so we wanted to relax a bit and still have fun. Keeping it simple yet stylish.

BGC#50: Back to CAS + Colour Challenge

challenge guidelines :
1. Make a CAS Card (cards Only) .
By CAS we mean Clean And Simple having more empty space than the elements on it.
2. Twist - Should Include the colours Gold and Black
So other than your base colour, you have to include elements (stamping, embossing, flowers or any other) in Gold and Black.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors for this challenge

One winner will receive a special Prize from DIECUTS AND MORE.

I think the challenge is pretty easy peasy this time but yes we want to see CAS... sometimes we get so engrossed in filling up spaces that we lose the essence or the meaning of what we want to say.

Now this is the card I made for the challenge

The card I have made is a 6 inch sqaure. I have used black cardstock for layering. Though I know many crafter's are comfortable using thinner paper for layering, I personally like the strength of a heavy cardstock. What do you use for layering? Do let me know....

When I started out working on this card I first had the sentiment in mind. and I decided to work around it.

Its a Just Rite stamp set having exactly the right sentiments you need for any occasion.

Keeping in mind the addition of gold , I decided to do glitter stars... I diecut the stars using my Cuttlebug (yes I am using cuttlebug... sounds ancient ... a friend told me)... But somehow the glittery stars just did not fit in ...

So again I went searching for Gold Cardstock and got some really nice stars this time... and a matte gold... looked wow...

To add that touch of Sparkle and dimension to the card i used Black glitter foam and cut 1/4" strips and simply pasted below the sentiment.

I love how the card looked overall and so I did make one more in a different colour combination. Will share that on my personal blog.

I hope you all enjoy this challenge... We want you to work around the sentiment . Keep it simple and yet get the message through...
