BGC#66- Mixed Media with Bipasha !

Hello..Hello Helloo Wonderful bloggers!!! It's Bipasha with you here  :)
How have you been doing??
You all might have been enjoying our current challenge and March is already in its last week!!!!!
I  have been following all your creations linked to our Mr Linky tool for our ongoing challenge "Mixed Media".. and they all are soo mind-boggling! We are sure to have a very tough time deciding our BGC#66 winners ;)

So Mixed media it is this time! That is, creating a visual art using more than one medium. It has been always my favourite forte. I have been really interested in trying different art elements as well as inks to create dimensional artworks...and hence came up with a little inspiration for all you crafty people this weekend!

Let me first quickly walk you through the challenge guidelines ...

Make a mixed media project using more than one medium (gesso, mist, ink, gel medium, texture paste, paint). It has to be visible in your work.

Mention what kind of medium you used in your post .
Your project must be new and must have been done after our challenge announcement.

Deadline to enter: 31th March 2015 until 11:55 PM IST.

N.B. Please go through the challenge guidelines carefully to qualify your entry for the challenge and who knows! You can be a winner and win amazing goodies from our generous sponsors!!

Now onto my inspiration:

A mixed media card it is!

And here is the overall look:

RECIPE:
1.I used a plain off white card for the background.
2.Glued two cut out paper pyramids from the gorgeous "Prima's Romance Novel" diagonally in two opposite corners.
3. Stamped and spattered  randomly in the mid region with the colour blooms, some beads, etc
4.Once I am happy with the BG, I started altering my elements to match my BG. I chalk painted the mdf frame into black and stamped a butterfly and some scripts onto it using Prima's white chalk ink. Also, I splattered randomly with my mahagony distress stain spray on the selected die-cuts.
5.Next, I glued down all the elements using  Prima's 3D gloss and yes! Its done :)

Mixed media ingredients: (mediums used)
Colour blooms, archival blank ink, chalkboard paint, chalk ink, distress stain spray, 3D gloss

Thanks for stopping by :)
Hope my creation inspires you and don't forget to play along with us here

Much love xx

BGC#66-Mixed Media once more with zubmomi!

Hello friends!!!

We are so happy to see your enthusiastic participation on the ongoing challege 'mixed media'. I'm here to share another special mixed media project with you :)

This is a 6x7 inch mini journal I made for a friend. The cover is made using different mediums such as embossing paste, mists, glass glitter.

I used stencils to apply embossing paste on the background and then misted it with dylusion's ink sprays. I have also done stamping and added prima glass glitter on it.

You can see all the sparkle and shine here.

Finally I embellish it with flowers, stamens, a metal chain and few die cuts.

Here are few inside pages where you can store those precious memories.

Hope you like it !

You have few more days to win some great prizes.

BGC#66 - Mixed Media with Shubhra + Tutorial

                                                            Hello Lovelies

So thrilled to look at the awesome entries you made to our ongoing challenge on Mixed Media. I am here yet again to share a mixed media project. This one is actually a Parisian theme romance mini album I did for myself and hubby for our honeymoon :) So of course, its very close to our hearts.
I have done the cover mixed media style and have a quick step by step tutorial for you, to follow.
Hope you would enjoy !

1. I have stuck pattern papers on to the cover page

2. Used stencils and  modelling paste from Finnabair

3. Prepared the prima resin oval frame for my cover, using acrylic paints and some glass glitter from Finnabair. Covered with a vintage image and glittered it too.

4. Next I have randomly placed some bits of paper

5. Laces at the bottom to pretty it up

6. Added some flowers and embellishments

7. Sprayed with Prima color blooms and Lindys mist. And this is what I got !

I would be doing a video on the inside of the album soon and it would be up on my blog here .

Hope this inspires you to give mixed media a try. Link your creations here , there are some great prizes to be won !

Hugs

I have made this 12X12 Mixed Media layout for you :)
To create the background, I used gesso, inks,  mists and added modeling paste through stencils. Then I layered some handmade flowers on the left  of the photo (the photo is a free vintage image).

I have also used pearl strings, lace and butterflies to embellish it.

To add extra shine and sparkle, I added Prima Glass Glitter on some areas of the layout.

I really enjoyed making my first mixed media layout.
Hope you like it too :)

Please link your projects here and join in the fun :))

Take care
zubmomi :)

BGC#66 Mixed Media with Shubhra

                                                         Hey Friends!

This month's challenge is on Mixed media. It's a topic that you can go on and on about, something which actually has no limits , whatever you own in your craft supplies can be used in one way or the other to create mixed media art. De-stash your trims, bits of papers, paints, shimmer, mdf, unsued flowers, homemade modelling paste and yeah create something !

I am sharing a mixed media layout and tag that I did for my husband , I wanted to gift him a few things and decided to make a tag for each to add a personal touch.

This was tagged to a shirt so I used Mellisa Frances hanger to add a small 6x6 inch mixed media layout, I have used Lindy's and gesso on this one.

And that's my wrapped up shirt, with some dry flowers form my favorite L'Occataine !

The other one is a jumbo tag wrapped pretty on two magnets that I did for him.

This one has stenciling with modelling paste, Lindy's mist and gesso.

I hope these inspire you to come up with something to participate in our challenge, until 31st Mar. Please read the rules and link your creations here.
